The Laboratorio Nacional de Análisis y Síntesis Ecológica has specialized facilities and state-of-the-art equipment to provide analysis and synthesis services. In addition, it has specialists in three areas of knowledge: bioinformatics, molecular genetic analysis and microscopy.
This laboratory has a state-of-the-art sequencing device Next Seq 550 of the Illumina brand, this equipment allows massive sequencing of DNA and RNA molecules including the assembling of genomes, transcriptomes, analysis of differential expression of genes and genotyping.
In the area of bioinformatics, the laboratory has a high-performance computing cluster to analyze and store large volumes of data relating to spatial information and genomic sequences. Additionally, this infraestructure offers a storage platform which contains repositories of biological information.
LANASE has direct collaboration with the microscopy laboratory of the Escuela Nacional de Estudios Superiores Unidad Morelia of UNAM. This laboratory has an electronic microscope (JSM-IT300) that allows the observation of a wide range of samples: metals, minerals, oxides, polymers, ceramics and organic samples.
